iPad day 11

The end of a short week – but a busy one!
It was great to hear from the teaching staff that they were thinking about strategies to use iPads in the classroom
(A 1:1 ratio of sorts)
Here’s an article we used (passed on from a colleague): http://elementaryedtech.wordpress.com/2012/04/11/the-single-ipad-classroom/

And today our teacher-librarian used her iPad to take close up pictures of photos in a book that she wanted to share with a big class. ‘Quick and easy’ were her words during set up; she (and the students) loved being able to see and talk about Einstein and not have to squint!

I like that technology is seen (and used) as a learning enhancer, but not necessarily something unique – just part of the learning experience!

I like that the iPads have been recognized as an accelerator to accepting technology as part if education – as another member of the staff said, if there was a reportwriter app so that she could do her report cards on it, she would totally ditch her desktop and laptop. Truly the post-pc world is disrupting our world!!
