Day 40 (of 185) differentiated meetings….it’s a thing…



Our principals association meets on the last monday of the month….which of course meant that it would’ve been Hallowe’en. Not a great time for many (especially for those with trick-or-treaters waiting at home).



The first week of November for some schools is also their traditional “Student Led Conference” week.  So….not a good overlap. But with some timely discussion points needing “as many eyes on them as possible”, I decided to try something a little different and differentiate the Association Meeting.



For face-to-face people, I had two meetings – one on monday (knowing that the candy was all set and ready to be handed out at home) and another on tuesday – again, knowing that for most, no days would be great, but that one of these two days would be workable….the rest of the week will be taken up with travel to Vancouver for WE Day….




So, knowing that there will still be troubles coordinating a “good day” for everyone to get together, I instead also created an online forum using OneDrive!AoLPQCyIrVhBgREVRJajvBJ9bJPT

partly because our district is still “single platform” with many relying on windows operating systems, so they can all access onedrive and not necessarily other platforms. (as for my view on “single user experiences” I did do a satire piece:



What I liked about this process was that it provided various opportunities for people to find a time/way/method that met their busy schedule. I also liked how open and honest people were while we discussed our “topics of interest”. I still wish that there was an easier way to bring everyone together and blend the ability for everyone to feel supported for their voice to be heard in more public forums….



It was far from perfect, but was an interesting way to try doing meetings….differently!
