Day 148 (of 183) may the Fourth be with you (some learnings from Star Wars)

Last year I did a bigger share on Star Wars: https://technolandy.wordpress.com/2015/05/04/day-151-of-188-star-wars-geniushour-yep-theres-a-connection/
But today I was focusing on “using the force”. Or as Old Ben said – relax…..let go….trust the process.

Okay not an exact quote but the intent: if you have confidence in something…let it work its way out. I remember using this mindset during a PLC where we had an outsider sitting in and wanting to intervene she discussions went off course….I told them to trust the process and sure enough our discussion rocketed ahead on course and in a (more) meaningful way.
Same when working with challenging youngsters. It’s a marathon not a sprint. But I do have to remind myself of this a bit more often as I see some students struggling and evading my first rule of anxiety: be in the building https://technolandy.wordpress.com/2015/05/01/day-150-of-188-my-anxiety-rant-edited-continued-blog4mh-anxiety/ Safety matters though……
And knowing where we are going is important. There may be some distractions and some left turns along the way, but they are a delay (or scenic part of the journey) not the end. If you believe in what you are doing, trust the process
