Day 113 (of 183) yep. That time of year check-in

Day 113 (of 183) yep. That time of year check-in

Moods are escalated. As they always are this time of year (fast forward to the bottom).

Fortunately I’ve shared enough times that we are constantly reminding ourselves that while the weather keeps getting nicer, it sometimes masks what’s going on inside….

Quick to tears over misunderstandings.

Rock brain because something doesn’t go as anticipated.

Not wanting to try anything new (both the short & tall learners!!)

Heck – even physical restraint has been necessary!

Games of tag going to far (as they always do, but so much quicker now)

Shoes being forgotten by the monkey bars (interesting strategy to escape from the classroom)

Morning death-hugs to moms because they can’t be without her

Did I mention the tears???

Even birthday parties becoming ‘stalking events’ (so says the boy who is the neighbor to a recent girl birthday party)

Why are we doing parent/teacher interviews right now? Shouldn’t I have known better??

One boy complained about being called names…….but it was his own name…..!

Headaches. Stomachaches. Earaches. Eyeaches……is that even a thing?

During my library time, I have been modelling times that I too could have gone “moody” but instead, used a variety of tools (hello @starbucks and a good book) to help me regulate and stay calm, thereby helping others stay calm (aka family)

Ironically I was going to post this at the start of the week but due to ‘interruptions’ this got bumped to…..the same day as last years post:
