Day 110 (of 183) it’s whats inside that counts (but maybe not what you think)

Spent time with a friend I haven’t seen in awhile.

We both commented that each other looked good.

but….we both knew better than that.

Both having autoimmune diseases, sometimes it’s what’s inside that counts…..why he can’t be at work. Why I plan my day to include a walk in our local forest and then a nap shortly thereafter. But we are “fine fine fine” on the outside (throwback to an earlier blog/rant on mental health:

It’s easy for us to:

a) be distracted by the outer appearance – both “looking good” and “what’s wrong”

b) focus on ‘the beauty’ within: coleman wilde it doesn’t matter

It’s difficult for us to:

a) be focus on the appearance – easy to look away at what makes us uncomfortable

b) focus on ‘what the inside should reflect’ – you look good  – you must ‘be’ good.

Always important to take some time and consider that what we see is not what we get…and to anticipate getting answers to our questions that we may not want to hear…as Shelley Moore (@tweetsomemoore) nicely shared on twitter this weekend:

Coleman Wilde got it right back in the 80s….it is what’s inside that counts – but damn it can be hard to look past what we see!!
