Day 77 (of 183) thinking about thinking and decision making

Day 77 (of 183) thinking about thinking and decision making

A few years ago I had to do some thinking about something I don’t like: right vs right decisions. Things would go so much better if everyone just did what I want….;-)

And schools and districts this time of year have some hard decisions to make as budgets come up – making decisions that will make some people happy and others…not so much….and despite a lot of thinking, there is always the unspoken fear that education institutes will make ‘the’ decision that will link up the school system with Kodak….Blockbuster….Borders…any number of record stores… (I’m not convinced there is ‘a’ decision that can so this) and miss a disruption that can’t be recovered from…

Because even some great thinkers had some oops along the way (in risk taking, you’re gonna make some mistakes along the way) – as I stumbled upon:

Key advice I have: make the best decision you can by being mindful of the past but keeping at least one eye on where you want to be going – you might not (ever) get everything you want but you need to be able to live with what you (need) did choose!
