Day 30 (of 183) the best part of a pro-d road trip

Day 30 (of 183) the best part of a pro-d road trip

Did I say part? I meant partS.
A busy week -waterwalk w two visiting schools was fabulous but set up a busy time trying to ‘catch up’ with library & literacy times. So it was a little nice to hit the road to pro-d for a few hours of … ‘different’ (though I am looking forward to the drive home with one of my daughters riding ‘shotgun’).
But stops along the way (with chronic pain, sometimes going through the mountain passes hurt) allowed me to listen to a mix of music and podcasts (great self regulation tools for me)
Some Twitter check-ins also helped me get psyched up about the people I’ll be meeting and re-connecting with over the next 48 hours. So excited that my Twitter connection helped bring @daisydyerduerr to Canada for the first (but not last!) time.
It also allowed me to have an impromptu meeting for coffee with @mauimickey (whose work with kindys & eportfolios always inspires me to do better!) and when I checked in at the hotel (just before midnight) having a quick ‘sidewalk chat’ (some of the best pro-d) with another member of the conference planning committee who was also checking in.
But really, the best part is knowing that even though I’m away, our learning community will still thrive – with a strong group of teachers, it’s nice not to have to worry about what’s going on ‘back home’ truly enables me to embrace the thinking that I know will processing with some of the great speakers at our @bcpvpa Connecting Leaders conference.
