SoL 3 (Summer of Learning) Relationships. Really – education is all about relationships.

Today we focused on the relationships we form in our buildings and throughout our entire learning community. As PVPs we work with children as well as adults. Employees, parents, volunteers among others! Today our challenge was to think about what we ‘bring to the plate’ – to leave our learning communities better than how we found them!

Norm Bradley’s challenge to #bcpvpa ShortCourse – job of PVPs is to make all people in our schools better. Leading is about leading.

My takeaway from my table was the reminder: be hard on the issues but gentle with the people. You have to be mindful of what others are going through (sleep sustenance stressers) as well as how you are doing. There is a reason why airlines tell you that in case of an emergency to put your oxygen mask on before helping others – gotta make sure you are in a good position to work with others.
Lots of activities today; lots of thinking; lots of prepping for the upcoming school year!
