Day 169 (of 188) the best pro-d: driveway dialogues

At the end of a long day of meetings and social events (our annual retirement night but this year with no retirements we celebrated ‘change of assignments’) came the reminder of a powerful pro-d opportunity. The power of the unplanned conversations as we depart for homes.
Unplanned but times where like minded educators can get together and express vulnerabilities and hopes and conspiracy theories.
And awesome ideas around education.
Tonight I learned about a concept I’m  going to look into a bit more: LID – learning in depth: student gets a random topic and spends multi years ecomibg an expert on your interpretation(s) of it.
Best of all my colleague referenced one of my #PLNers as a PVP at the school that had been exploring LIDs.
I probably would not have learned about this if serendipity hadn’t occurred and enabled some great late night professional dialogues!!
