Day 167 (of 188) 11:00 already?

Day 167 (of 188) 11:00 already?
(A quick stream of thought at the end of a busy day)
Some days till faster than others. Blending teaching and principaling can be a tricky balance (not to think about coaching which isn’t a factor until tomorrow…..!) and time can race by!
Checkins with staff members and specific learners before the bell follows a regular check of emails texts and blogs that start off the day.
The commute enables some thinking predicting re-analyzing of decisions past present and future. P

Always a new email or a phone call – and today one phone call with a parent seemed to end with them hanging up on me – until they redialled and apologized for their stupid cell provider. Whew.
And pop in meetings – staff parents (trustee) students looking for  minute  of time – which is always available (for them!)   Expect the unexpected.
And emails phone calls texts around an upcoming track & field event keep the day lively. Along with getting ready for a Parent Advisory Committee meeting which means that lunch is now dinner. At least the janitor has a wicked playlist going on in the hall (I’m catching up on some Neil DeGrasse Tyson podcasts).
How did that happen? Time flies when you’re having fun?! I’m really enjoying what I do then! And quick preps for the next day (or two or four) while making sure we have more than enough coffee & reading an amazing blog from an amazing educator who passes on a shoutout to me – thank you Michelle!
Before you know it the PAC meeting is over (should we be making as many jokes as we do?) and it’s time to get home to do a bit more work and then realize the late news is on.
Sigh. That alarm is going to sneak up real soon too, ain’t it…!
Can hardly wait!
