Day 120 (of 188) ArtFair #83learns
Today we got to live in a classroom of extra-chaos – but the good kind of chaos! Each year our school district partners up with artists in the community to host an art fair in our local mall. This includes each elementary school putting up displays of some of their artwork:
As well as taking part and learning about some “different art forms” than what we can usually easily do within our classrooms – such as pottery and leatherwork. It’s a neat opportunity to partner up artistic talents with mentors who might help them do a little ‘more’ than ordinary:
And of course provides an opportunity for our learners to show their products to a bigger audience! While we do a lot of sharing using our schools eportfolio methodology, that audience is much more family-targeted. Putting your original work out for everybody to see and think about ….. it’s hard to decide what the best part of our art fair week is:
working with students from other learning communities
doing art that you might not have even known was art before
sharing your original productions with in a public place!
or maybe it’s just showing off your art project to your parents….
