Day 78 (of 188) cancelled due to weather
On saturday I was worried about our snowpack and what might happen this spring/summer. It’s been a ‘dry’ winter – wet with rain, but very little snow. I needn’t’ve worried – as one of my mentors says: nature abhors a vacuum. We got caught up.
in one day…(sunday)…
kinda was ominous since that was “the start” of an expected sunday storm…which led to
a lot of snow that wasn’t there on saturday (15 inches/38 cms on the garbage can)
and a lot of district closures – 83learns along with Kamloops, Vernon and Central Okanagan…and even though I was able to get to school today – the highways were fine and I live on a street that is regularly plowed “second” – my comment to our superintendent (while talking about our first problem: power outage) was that while the highway was clear, none of the side roads were ‘opened up’. The snow came down so fast that as of tonight, my secretary’s road still hasn’t seen a snow plow…and when clearing the driveway leads to five foot drifts….that’s a lot of snow in a short period of time!
sometimes “snow happens” and we’ll wait to kick of our 2015 school year…tomorrow! (weather permitting!)
