Day 47 (of 188) wanna be startin’ something

You gotta be startin’ something, and with Bill Watterson it began with:

Starting with Spaceman Spiff, he arrived at Calvin & Hobbes – a comic that did so much more than just ‘entertain’ for a decade; it made readers think – and synthesize and infer…

But you never know when you start…

@sugatam didn’t know that his “hole in the wall” project would lead to “self organized learning environments” http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sugata_Mitra

Who knew what impact Googles 20% time would have as #geniushour

Twitter as a tool to unite like minded educators and allow sharing around the world? As a maverick principal, my dad would loved this!

Computers in the classroom? Lots of naysayers at the start….and the “new” (a PAC first loaded my classroom with four iPod touches a month after they were released in 2007 – loved their vision + trust) disruption of affordable mobile technology….

…which is enabling the next big paradigm shift – eportfolios instead of report cards… the more I see teachers students & parents using them the happier I am to see this ‘at the beginning’ and wonder “where from here”!

Come on, you know you wanna be startin’ somethin’!
