Day 29 (of 188) Thankful (Canadian Thanksgiving weekend) #bcedbloggers

Day 29 (of 188) Thankful (Canadian Thanksgiving weekend) #bcedbloggers

Some things I am thankful for (so far) this year:

a great staff who have taken on (and seen value of) eportfolios instead of report cards
a school district that has enabled me to do some education ‘different’
a daughter who is talking (debating?) assessment practices with her grade 9 teachers
a son working with General Anxiety Disorder but staying in his classroom each day (big gains from last year)
another daughter who figures she has ‘two of the best teachers ever’ this year…..then she stares at me and says ‘glad I didn’t go to your school this year…’
a class that is embracing Self Organized Learning Environment Learning
students who cheer when it is geniushour time
a PLN that continues to stretch my thinking asynchronously
a PLN that enables edcamps to stretch my thinking F2F
more and more educators taking to Twittering and blogging
a wife who lets me get caught up in education stuff & events (gotta have family support!)
opportunities to work on anxiety in education
opportunities to work on technology/education integration (technologization)
opportunities to work on disruptive practices (geniushour, Self Organized Learning Environments, and ePortfolios)
the chance to present on all three themes to other educators
edcamps being identified as a ‘want’ building off of what was started last year in #83learns

And the opportunity to add to this blog list over the holiday long weekend!

– taking my Anxiety son to a football game and only needing one ‘stress walk’
– catching up with friends and family on the coast
– doing very well in my “keeper” hockey league this weekend
