Day 7 (of 188): bored in an empty school?

Day 7 (of 188): bored in an empty school?

Today two trustees stopped by to “see how things are going”. They stopped by our picket line that reinforced that schools have been without teachers and students since June 13 and chatted with the teachers who were there and then they came in to see how I was doing. I reassured them that while the school was empty – there is still a lot that can be done. With twitter chats ongoing, it’s neat to peek into discussion threads about education around the world. There are also many phone calls and emails made between BC PVPs both checking in on each other and asking some ‘interesting’ questions -I’ve had some neat chats around anxiety, eportfolios, and twitter – all of which I am also preparing “presentations” about for upcoming conferences and meetings. As for the “time” where I may be bored….I still think that it can be valuable time – in a world that is increasingly scheduled, I still think there is a place and time to be “bored” so that the brain can have some time to reflect and work and be creative… (Is that the sound of my superintendent getting nervous?)
