Day 1 (of 188) weirdest. day. ever.

Day 1 (of 188) weirdest. day. ever.

For the first time since my family has been in British Columbia, the first day of school was not attended by students.

My father, as teacher and principal, went through many different types of job action – from ‘work to rule’ to ‘withdrawal of services’ with the ‘weirdest’ being the separation of PVPs and Ts in the late 1980s.

As a teacher and principal myself, I too have gone through many different types of job action – from ‘work to rule’ to ‘withdrawal of services’ with the ‘weirdest’ being a job action that ends one school year and starts the next.

Sigh – we are indeed in uncharted waters.
