iPads day 21 – mind shift

Mind shift!
Today I noticed a significant change in the use of the iPads. A much stronger connection to using the tools to create content; to review and edit; to use descriptive feedback – not a rating out if 4, 5, or 10.
The students were no longer asking to use them ‘to play games’. They were using them to prepare videos. They were trying to type their script on one.
The minecrafters were still collaborating on their projects; boggle was being played to support spelling – but it was great to see the students and teachers today talking about collaborating about creating content.
Our community connection has been getting some iPad cradles (see pic) attached to projectors and into the classrooms as this has allowed for some immediate peer assessments and some very relevant feedback loops.
I’m just happy that interest in the devices remains high!
