iPads Day 4

The first day of the new week started with sunshine and smiling faces – at least for those if us who did not have to stay home because of a cold/flu.

Today’s biggest positive came when a teacher let me know that she had used her iPad at a pro-d event at the end of last week and was hoping to edit down the clips. At first I figured the eat way would be to download the clips onto my computer and do some editing. Enabling behaviour. Oops.
Then (after a dramatic pause – or maybe just clear thinking) I showed her the iMovie app that would do the same job (minus my intervention). She was quite excited to see how it goes – more to follow.

This weekend I prepped up a ‘mapping unit’ presentation that I am planning on putting online as we go through it so that parents (and absent students) can keep pace. If things go well, that will be part of Day 7.
A ‘miss’ remains the limitations of not having wifi for a few more months. It would be nice to show google earth and mobile maps as part of the presentation – I may need to turn my phone into a hotspot for the day….

No limitations – time for creative problem solving!

The enthusiasm for the tools continues as the ultra short throw is being signed out from my room for the first time tomorrow!
