December 31 may be the end of the calendar year, but in education mayjune is the real end of the year!
Time to be thinking about final report cards ( and the ensuing discussions about what the do and don’t communicate with learners and their parents).
Time will be spent on cumulative and reflection activities – sports days, year end assemblies, final projects.
Time will be used to talk about September – the real ‘start to the year’ – including wondering who will be teaching which grade/class.
Time. The greatest resource we have and also the one in shortest supply. While the weather continues to get warmer as the start of summer approaches, it is important to make sure we don’t overwhelm ourselves in how much we do (again) and focus on quality.
Then again it just might be a good thing that the days are getting longer with all the emails, phone calls, meeting requests, and regular day to day school operations. Oops. Gotta run – my alarm just reminded me of something I have to take care of!
